Steves Quotes (Again borrowed from a site which put it up)

Steve Jobs one of the most renowned entrepreneur shares some of his thoughts and wisdom on Time, Faith, Life, Goal, People, Success, Knowledge, Thinker and Day

  1. Time – The most precious resource we all have is time.
  2. Faith – Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith.
  3. Life – I think the things you most regret in life are things you didn’t do.
  4. Goal – You should never start a company with the goal of getting rich. Your goal should be making something you believe in and making a company that will last.
  5. People – As individuals, people are inherently good. I have a somewhat more pessimistic view of people in groups.
  6. Success – I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.
  7. Knowledge – People who know what they’re talking about don’t need PowerPoint.
  8. Thinker – The people that really create the things that change this industry are both the thinker and doer in one person.
  9. Day – I don’t think much about my time of life. I just get up in the morning and it’s a new day.

Ben Stiller Did it

Feel good movies have been a part of hollywood and they know far too well than any other
industry to keep it distinct, sweet, genuine.Ben stiller who has known to do comedy films which
are supposedly funny and light movies always made me think each and every if only he had
avoided on the on the face jokes of adult nature very untimely.

But Ben Stiller has done it this time  both as an actor and director with his film: Secret life of Walter Mitty.

Poster of the movie : The Secret life of Walter Mitty

Wow !! What a film... very light, funny, subtle jokes, out of the world moments(right amount),family bondness, very real..version of how a good American movie  for family to watch could reach. This may be one of the best feel good movie that hollywood could be proud off.
A must watch really!!  reminded me about the one fine day(1996) kind of feel.
Another one to watch is August:Osage County,
The director did hell of job in telling the tale of a dysfunctional family.I sadly remembering him apologizing
Julia Roberts in August Osage County
for rushing th film for the oscars but I dont think that was neccessary as this piece was original.I really think Julia Roberts did her role with more clarity than Meryl streep. What do you think??

This story is for the "Pretending Geniuses"

The following story was found when I was googling for some doubts about barometer. But after reading it even though I did not have time to spare I really had to put this story which amused me over here and here it goes....

The following concerns a question in a physics degree exam at the University of Copenhagen:
"Describe how to determine the height of a skyscraper with a barometer."
One student replied:
"You tie a long piece of string to the neck of the barometer, then lower the barometer from the roof of the skyscraper to the ground. The length of the string plus the length of the barometer will equal the height of the building."
This highly original answer so incensed the examiner that the student was failed immediately. The student appealed on the grounds that his answer was indisputably correct, and the university appointed an independent arbiter to decide the case.
The arbiter judged that the answer was indeed correct, but did not display any noticeable knowledge of physics. To resolve the problem it was decided to call the student in and allow him six minutes in which to provide a verbal answer that showed at least a minimal familiarity with the basic principles of physics.
For five minutes the student sat in silence, forehead creased in thought. The arbiter reminded him that time was running out, to which the student replied that he had several extremely relevant answers, but couldn't make up his mind which to use. On being advised to hurry up the student replied as follows:
"Firstly, you could take the barometer up to the roof of the skyscraper, drop it over the edge, and measure the time it takes to reach the ground. The height of the building can then be worked out from the formula H = 0.5g x t squared. But bad luck on the barometer."
"Or if the sun is shining you could measure the height of the barometer, then set it on end and measure the length of its shadow. Then you measure the length of the skyscraper's shadow, and thereafter it is a simple matter of proportional arithmetic to work out the height of the skyscraper."
"But if you wanted to be highly scientific about it, you could tie a short piece of string to the barometer and swing it like a pendulum, first at ground level and then on the roof of the skyscraper. The height is worked out by the difference in the gravitational restoring force T =2 pi sqr root (l /g)."
"Or if the skyscraper has an outside emergency staircase, it would be easier to walk up it and mark off the height of the skyscraper in barometer lengths, then add them up."
"If you merely wanted to be boring and orthodox about it, of course, you could use the barometer to measure the air pressure on the roof of the skyscraper and on the ground, and convert the difference in millibars into feet to give the height of the building."
"But since we are constantly being exhorted to exercise independence of mind and apply scientific methods, undoubtedly the best way would be to knock on the janitor's door and say to him 'If you would like a nice new barometer, I will give you this one if you tell me the height of this skyscraper'."
The student was Niels Bohr, the only Dane to win the Nobel Prize for physics.

Following Says too Much !!

"I kept the books because..... its the only thing that is left of you "

From room number 214:Thinking for how long I could Hang on?

Like every other blog out there nowdays,Let me too continue with same statement of Its been a while since I was here and still it doesn't feel strange.

This post is actually for the future me.I want to tell the future me I felt so trapped during this time.I wanted to be part of the journey I am on,But it make me sad  that I am not on the correct path in this journey and I am not fit for the journey I am in now.Its not that the journey I am in is a one that I don't love to go through but its the path chosen that sickens me and also the ship. The fault factor is that the dream ship I am on is ridden by worst ego statical, weirdly down to earth, contradicting unhonest to self people I have ever met as a whole package.

It even gets worse as fellow sailors except couple of them are the ones  trying to prey on you or cut through you with the most crudest feelings but with same egoist attitude.

I hope you could in the future me finds myself traveling safely with the couple of your favorite sailors then through this journey.

Final note to myself: You're now in room no:214 writing this on your newly bought HP while the other sailors are sitting in the other end of room with future roommate trying to crush you in every way possible.Till then hope, sadness and despair of not being in the righteous path is all I have for myself to sooth me.

Till Then Adios
